Day 7, 2:14 PM, July 2nd, 2024

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Hello! I just got a new fountain pen, and I am writing with it! I just watched some people play chess, and I think I learned a bit! Well, we are about to eat, and I ordered pancakes with bacon and cheese! Anyways, I just got my Coccy Cola that I ordered, so everything is great!

Yours truly,

Dorrel

Vivian is quite pleased with her hot chocolate. The restaurant is located in a converted carousel, which was a fun gimmick. (photo: Thomas)

Dutch-style pancakes (pannenkoeken) are frequently savory and are more like French crêpes than what Americans consider pancakes to be. (photo: Stephanie)

Vivian opted for the restaurant’s signature dish, which included every fruit they offered, plus powdered sugar, plus whipped cream, plus ice cream. (photo: Thomas)

Day 7, Time uncertain (I copied from the last entry), July 2nd, 2024

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Hello! I just got back from a very exhausting walk in the city and a very nice walk in Vondelpark. We are going to have pizza for dinner, and my pizza is gonna be cheese pizza. No surprise there. Anyways, I have the chance to screen, and I am gonna take it! Bye!

Yours truly,

Dorrel

Day 7, 10:02 PM, July 2nd 2024

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Hello! I am currently in my bed, writing. Well, I must get off to bed, because my mom is standing over me being very impatient. (I always hate when she does that.) But before I go, I have to reflect. This day has been a pretty walking day. We went to HEMA and got some (illegible), Dad took us on a death march through the city, and we had some nice experiences in Vondelpark.

Yours,

Dorrel

The apartment we are staying in is on the third floor, and the apartment also has three floors. Dory is staying on the very top floor. Also, we are staying up too late because at this time of year, the sun doesn’t set here until 10pm. (photo: Dory)
