Hello! I am currently eating breakfast, toast with eggs. Well, today is a rainy day. But yet we will still have fun. One thing we will do today is learn the ropes for taking care of the apartment. We also might visit a museum.

Fortunately, the rain didn’t last. It often rains here, but usually not all day. While we were out walking, Vivian spotted this 1946 sticker on a pole. We **just** watched this documentary **right** before we left the US! So we had to take a photo. (photo: Stephanie)

Hello! I am currently at a table. We just got some things from Albert-Heijn, after we left the “Grand Cafe”. because they did not have enough staff. Anyways, the situation here is much better and manageable. We are also eating so we must go. But before I go, I have to tell you that we are going to go to the Amsterdam City Museum after this.

Restaurant service in Europe is a lot different from the United States. We couldn’t get a table at the museum cafe, and the only option was to just stand and wait for a table to be free and then to pounce on it. (In the US there would be a carefully managed waiting list.) So we defaulted to our usual, which is to get some pre-packaged sandwiches and other lunchy things from Albert Heijn, which is a ubiquitous grocery store chain in the Netherlands. We found a dry spot under some giant umbrellas in the courtyard of the museum and had a picnic. (photo: Stephanie)

Hello! I am currently at a makeshift desk in my bedroom/attic. We had a pretty exciting day today. We went to the Amsterdam City Museum, where we learned about the history of Amsterdam. We also went on the metro. Well, we are now planning for what we will do tomorrow. Bye!
